(Indianapolis, Ind. – January 24, 2012) – Larry Crane, former lead guitarist for John Mellencamp, has announced that he will make his first live performance in over 20 years of the songs he recorded, arranged or co-wrote while with the band. Crane will take the stage during Super Bowl XLVI week with Indiana-native and Nashville recording artist Corey Cox on Sunday, January 29 on the Verizon stage. Radio personality Laura Steele broke the news in an exclusive interview with Crane and Cox.

"To witness Larry Crane play guitar again on Hurt so Good, Authority Song, Pink Houses, Small Town and Play Guitar is huge news," says Steele. "And, to see him perform with a fellow Hoosier and rising country rock star like Corey Cox at a Super Bowl event in Indianapolis is going to be pretty special."

From 1976 until 1991, Larry Crane, a Seymour, Indiana native appeared along side John Mellencamp a guitarist, co-songwriter and contributor to the arrangements and production of the Mellencamp sound. Since leaving the band, Crane has launched a solo career recording and performing with John Prine, John Fogerty, Rosanne Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Lou Reed and legendary Producer Bob Johnston, among others.

"I grew up singing Mellencamp songs that Larry co-wrote, arranged and recorded, " said Cox. "To get the opportunity to share the stage with someone who played such an influential part in my music career and at the Super Bowl in Indianapolis is a huge honor."
